Seminary attacked with hand grenade; 2 students injured

Two students have been injured as unknown miscreants attacked a religious seminary in the limits of Sadar police with hand grenade, police said on Sunday.

Unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade reportedly on a religious seminary Darul Aftad Farooqia in Taj colony on Chashma Road leaving two students namely Zahid, son of Gulsa Khan Bhittani resident of Nawab locality and Abidullah, son of Niaz Mehsud, resident of Lachra village.

The sources in the district department of police told this scribe that the hand grenade was hurled by unknown miscreants which blasted with bang.

The eyewitness said that the windowpanes of the seminary and nearby buildings shattered with the intensity of explosion.

The Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Sadar Hafiz Adnan and Station Headquarter Officer (SHO) Saleem Khan reached the seminary with contingents and besieged the adjacent area with carrying out search in the area.

The injured students were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital D I Khan, where they are stated in stable condition. Neither the motive of the attack is disclosed nor any group till the filing of this reported accepted responsibility for the assail.
