A tragic incident occurred a few days ago in a small town called Sanghi, located some distance from Sukkur Sindh, where a dilapidated old building based on different separated portions but its back part fell off on nearby houses. As a result, one woman died and one person was seriously injured.
According to the affected family, on whom the place fell, they are forced to vacate their house and live in another residence. Not only this but the people living next to this old building are also compelled to leave their homes and move to other areas because a burnt child dreads the fire. Still, some portions of buildings are about to collapse and will bring a great disaster and until now, no representative of the administration has come to ask after them.
Who is to be blamed and made answer for this catastrophe?
Should blame be placed on those who lived right next to the building and as a result they suffered Lot? Definitely not because they had already spoken in favor of demolishing this building.
Or those should be blamed who were owning the house but didn’t bother to demolish it before it collapsed on my own? No, because these types of poor people have already suffered a lot due to recent heavy rainfall and can’t afford to demolish their own homes.
In fact, the administration is to be blamed, because residents of the area had complained multiple times to MNA Syed Khurshed Shah, District commissioner Sukkur, and the Sindh building control authority department regarding this calamity that could break upon them at any moment like the doomsday. But nobody took it seriously and paid attention to take steps and destroy the building if they would have done so at least we were able to save a life.
Along this house, there are many houses and roads that are very dangerous when passing through them, even if the same building collapses again, it can kill a lot of people.
It is politely requested to the administration reconsider this emergency and demolish the rest of the building to save hundreds of lives.
