Netflix Filming on The Crown will probably stop in remembrance of late queen Elizabeth II.

According to Deadline, Morgan, who previously penned The Queen (2006) starring Helen Mirren, said in an email that he anticipates the sixth instalment of The Crown “will suspend filming” out of respect for a while.

I have nothing to contribute at this time other than quiet and respect since The Crown is a love poem to her. I anticipate that out of respect, we will also halt filming,” he stated.

The media outlet claimed that the streaming behemoth has contingency preparations in place in case Queen Elizabeth died while the show was in production. Stephen Daldry, who directed parts of the first season’s episodes, made a promise when the show first went into production that if it continued, it would stop for a decent amount of time.

“None of us know when that day may come, but it would be right and proper to show respect to the Queen,” he said to Deadline in 2016. It would be a straightforward act of respect and homage. She is well-known worldwide, therefore we should act accordingly.

At the time, Daldry predicted that “she’s an exceptional woman and people will be angry.”

The programme focuses on the political squabbles, courtships, and historical events that formed the second half of the 20th century.

Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, and Imelda Staunton will serve as the fifth season’s Queen beginning in November. In the fifth season of the Princess Diana narrative, Humayun Saeed will play Dr. Hasnat Khan, who the late Princess was rumoured to have fallen in love with.
