Submarine cable connects Pakistan to France
The European (PEACE) Cable International Network Company Limited connecting Pakistan and East Africa has completed construction and is preparing to operate a submarine cable infrastructure from Karachi to Marseille, France.
According to a statement by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the section will connect Karachi and Japarana in Egypt. The length of this section is 5800 km. These achievements were revealed at an online meeting between PTA President Amir Azim Bajwa, Managing Director and the management of PEACE Cable. The delegation included Sun Xiaohua, Chief Operating Officer of Peace Management, Zhang Donghai, Director of Peace Management, Chirs Zhang, who participated in the meeting via video link, and Shoaib Ashfaq Qureshi, President of Peace Cable Pakistan. A person who personally attended the meeting.
The delegation expressed interest in investment opportunities in the country. He also discussed future plans to develop innovative digital technology solutions to accelerate progress towards a digitally connected Pakistan.
“The Pakistan-France sector is now well established and these are very exciting times,” said CEO PEACE Cable. Qureshi, the regional manager, said that PEACE was the first international submarine cable that started in Pakistan and reached Europe, Africa and Singapore.

“This is a new submarine initiative for the Pakistani market and we are excited to increase the connectivity of the region,” he added. The PEACE cable is a 15,000 km submarine cable from Pakistan to France. Another 6,500 km from Pakistan to Singapore.
