Dr. Hamid Choi Yong Kil made history by becoming the first native Korean Muslim to entirely translate the Quran from Arabic to Korean.

Now that the complex project has been finished, Korean Muslims will be able to read the holy book in their native language.

This is important because it eliminates the difficulties that many Korean-Muslims and non-Muslims experience while learning about Islam due to linguistic and semantic differences.

Since many people have preconceptions as a result of literal translations, it may be difficult to convey the precise meanings of the Quran through translation software.

The declaration is timed with a gradual rise in South Korea’s Muslim population.

Despite still being a minority in the country, the religious community has seen tremendous growth over the last ten years mainly to conversion and tourism.

According to the Korean Muslim Federation, there are currently only 200,000 Muslims in the nation, or 0.38 percent of the entire population.

The majority are foreigners who came to Korea as students or workers from Turkey, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan and then petitioned for citizenship in Korea.

However, more South Koreans are getting interested in Islam as more Muslim tourists travel to well-known tourist locations in South Korea in the internet age.

However, thanks to Dr. Hamid Choi, many Koreans won’t experience this problem anymore (Korean Quran Translator)

According to media news portal, he reportedly went to the Islamic University of Madinah, where the school’s founder, Samahatusy Shaykh Abdul Aziz, was “very delighted with him, particularly the depth of his study and moral integrity.”

Dr. Hamid Choi (Korean Quran Translator) teaches Arabic and Islamic Studies at a South Korean institution in addition to being a translator.
