On August 31, Punjab Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education, including BISE Lahore, will declare matriculation results (Wednesday). The outcome will be revealed at 10 a.m.

In total, 270 000 students took the exam. This year, boards will not disclose the identities of the position holders. According to policy, there will be no ceremony for position-holders this year because there are no open jobs.

However, students can verify their results on the websites of the relevant BISE Lahore boards or via SMS at 80029.

Under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP), the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited talented youth athletes from around the country to participate in volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and squash trials in 25 districts.

The PMYP was initially founded by the former administration of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) because the then-prime minister Imran Khan believed that youth empowerment was Pakistan’s most valuable asset. The journey began with the establishment of the Youth Affairs Wing at PM House under the supervision of the prime minister. The project was divided into seven parts, including the youth business loan scheme, skills development programme, talent hunt for youth sports, green youth movement, digital youth development centres, national innovation award, and the national youth council.

Under the talent hunt youth sports programme, the aforementioned trials for identifying young potential have begun, and the offered league intends to offer possibilities to the picked players when they have won national championships in their respective sports.

The options include the provision of coaching and development facilities under the sponsorship of the Pakistan Sports Board, as well as the awarding of scholarships for higher education, according to Javed Ali Memon, in-charge of the HEC’s Sports and Co-Curricular Division.

According to Memon, the selected players will be assigned to sports academies (High Performance and Resource Center) in order to consistently acquire the necessary abilities, competence, and physical fitness to become professional athletes.
