PAK Railways to receive 230 coaches from China
In December of this year, Pakistan Railways will begin receiving the first batch of 230 new passenger coaches from China according to Federal Minister for Railways and Aviation Saad Rafique.
According to Pakistan Railways, these coaches are pleasant, fitted with the newest amenities, and are capable of travelling at a speed of 160 km/h.
To update its fleet, Pakistan Railways decided to buy 820 freight vans and 230 high-speed passenger coaches in November 2020.
According to a Pakistan Railways spokesperson, the carriage factory in Islamabad would produce 184 contemporary passenger coaches in the second phase after procuring 46 in the first.
According to the spokesperson, each passenger coach will include 80 compartments for air-conditioned and economy class, 30 parlour cars, and 20 vans for luggage and brakes.

He stated that 200 freight vans will be imported and 620 such bogies would be built at the factory.
