With favorable policies, Pakistan’s IT exports rise to $15 billion in 3 years

Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque inaugurated the ITCN Asia 2022 exhibition in Karachi Expo Center on Wednesday. The exhibition with the slogan “IT & Telecom Show” will serve as a platform for the promotion of information technology and guidance to youth in the country.

Over 1,500 brands representing 800 companies participating in the exhibition span over four halls. ITCN Asia 2022 will be unique in many aspects this year. In view of post pandemic global dynamics, the exhibition and conferences will benefit the new generation.

Speaking on the occasion Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Syed Amin Ul Haque said that our primary objective is to increase ICT exports in the country. On the Advice of Prime Minister, the ICT export is to be taken up to 15 billion US dollars in the next few years, a target of US 5 billion dollars has been set for ICT export by next year.

“We understand the challenges faced by the IT & Telecom industry, we are working on more reforms for the industry like reduction of taxes and other recommendations etc.,” the Minister added.

He said that MOITT launched Smart Policing project few months ago in Islamabad and all provincial capitals including GB and AJK. Now the Ministry of IT is expanding its flagship project across the country, in which the police system and first ever database of criminals are being fully computerized.

The event organized by e-commerce Gateway in collaboration of Ministry of IT & Telecom also includes a number of seminars, wherein world acclaimed industry experts will share their insights on IT, e-commerce, software development, startups, robotics and retail tech
