The Koffee Couch was visited by Kiara Advani and Shahid Kapoor in this week’s episode, and the pair made sure the programme was enjoyable throughout by sharing their amusing, touching, and eccentric disclosures and anecdotes. The fact that Kriti Sanon had previously been given Kiara’s role in her Netflix production Lust Stories was one of the things that became public knowledge as a result of the show. In the anthology, Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal played the lead roles in a short film directed by Karan Johar. In the movie, Kiara plays Megha, who experiences an orgasm in front of the entire family. Kiara was praised for her acting abilities and the way she handled that particular role.
Karan Johar admitted that it was difficult to find a suitable candidate for the role while talking about the movie and how it helped Kiara stand out as an actor in the series. He claimed that Kriti Sanon was the one who received the part first.
Karan said, “I had offered it to Kriti Sanon, the role…and she said that her mom didn’t allow her.”
Karan continued, “I thought everybody’s mom would stand in line, not allowing their daughters. It’s actually a very empowering story. It’s about a woman’s right to pleasure. So I met Kiara at Manish Malhotra’s house, and I just saw her, I knew her of course, I knew her as Alia Advani then…so I met her and I asked can you come tomorrow and meet me, it’s for a short film. She came and she heard it and then she was a little zoned out.
“She said, are you directing it? I said yes. Then she said, yeah! I’m doing it!” Kiara then admitted that she did the movie because Karan was directing it. She said, “I have to say that when I signed the film, it was only to work with Karan Johar.”
In 2018, Netflix released Lust Stories. Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar each helmed one of the four short films in the anthology movie.
