Marvi Girl’s hostel has been evacuated on short notice facing rain emergency.

Yesterday, the college administration issued a notice and warned verbally to clear away the hostel immediately after observing the hostel on the risk due to heavy rainfall.

Marvi Hostel is located in an area of civil hospital Sukkur, a place where doctors including house officers and postgraduate trainees dwell, keeping the continuous heavy rainfall in view yesterday hostel was evacuated on short notice of administration.

The resident doctors were facing severe problems for the past several days due to heavy rains, which include the unavailability of a cook, increase in load shedding, inadequate water supply, and others.

But things went out of control yesterday when the doctors complained to the warden about the leaking roof and told him about the critical part of the hostel which could collapse and cause inevitable damage, knowing all this, the warden of the hostel issued a notification to vacate the hostel Immediately.

Upon getting the notice, they were taken aback. though it was hard for them to leave at night because the hostel was the only source for them to rely on. In fact, they were not cut out for facing this kind of tragedy.

Many girls were able to escape the hostel in the night when it was bucketing down.

Some of them arranged to shift to other hostels and a number of girls went to their colleagues’ homes but the administration failed to provide them with alternative and safe shelter during this emergency.

This is the same hostel which has a history of night entry of unknown people to harass girls, after this incident the security of the hostel has been increased but the girls are feeling unsafe in this rainy season due to the old building whose roof can break into parts or collapse suddenly.
