Salafi cleric Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer announced a rally in Lahore on August 22 to demand the arrest and trial of dissident Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza.
Recently, AIbtisam Elahi Zaheer tried to lodge an FIR in the police station against Engineer Muhammad Ali for using offensive words against Hazrat Muawiya. But the SHO there refused to file the FIR and announced not to register a case. Because no attention has been paid to this case by the institutions, Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer has challenged the institutions that if they do not file the FIR against Engineer Muhammad Ali, then we will protest across the country.
He tweeted from his Twitter account that “On the refusal of the police, an emergency meeting was arranged immediately after Friday, in which, on an hour’s notice, the khutba of fifty mosques assured to join the protest in large numbers on August 22”.
