Pilot dies as plane crashes in Saudi capital Riyadh

A light plane crashed in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on Tuesday, killing the pilot.

According to Saudi Arabia TV, a light plane crashed after taking off from Riyadh’s Thumamah Airport.

According to an Okaz newspaper report, the Aviation Investigations Bureau in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced in a statement that this light plane crashed after taking off from Thumamah Airport on Tuesday morning, and the pilot was the only passenger on board.

The statement went on to say that rescue teams had arrived at the scene of the accident to begin their investigation into the cause of the crash, despite the fact that the pilot had died.

Thumamah Airport is located in Saudi Arabia, near Ath Thumamah. It is approximately 28.9 kilometres north of King Khalid International Airport.
