LHC dismisses petition for ban on baajaa

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday dismissed a petition for baajas (pressure horns) holiday to be banned.

Muneeb Tariq, a resident, had moved to LHC in search of a ban on the use of the bajas on Independence Day because the usage of the bajas on this holiday produces mental anxiety for the populace.

The court requested that the manufacturing and selling of Baajas be prohibited. The Lahore High Court’s Justice Shahid Waheed dismissed the argument by ruling it ineffectual.

Justice Waheed said that because Independence Day had passed and the plea is no longer valid.

It is also mentioned that using baajas to express joy on Independence Day has become customary throughout Pakistan.

People have been hearing loud applause, national anthems, and continuous fireworks since Pakistan’s Independence Day began on Sunday night.
