The diamond jubilee of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is celebrated with patriotic zeal and fervor in D I Khan and Tank Districts like in other parts of the country, on Sunday.
Different Commemorative ceremonies were held in both D I Khan and Tank Districts. In Dera Ismail Khan, a ceremony was held at Ratta Kulachi Cricket Stadium on the 75th Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan under the auspices of the Regional Sports Office.
At the beginning of the ceremony, The National Flag was hoisted while a cake was also cut to mark Independence Day. An Azadi Walk was also organized during the event, while basketball, cricket, and hockey tournaments organized by the Regional Sports Office were also inaugurated on the occasion of Independence Day. National Anthem, Milli Naghmas, Naats, and traditional Pashto dance (Atann) were also presented during the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Dera Nasrullah Khan said, practical measures are being taken to promote different kinds of sports activities.
City Mayor Tehsil D I Khan Sardar Umar Amin Gandapur said On this day (14 August) under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, the Muslims of the sub-continent achieve their goal to attain an Islamic Republic State, the provincial government is paying special attention to the provision of sports fields and other facilities to promote sports activities and foster positive thinking in the young generation.
Similarly, a flag hoisting ceremony was also held at Ijaz Shaheed Police Line D I Khan.
District Police Officer (DPO) D I Khan Captain (retd) Najam Hussain Liaquat hoisted the national flag. Speaking on the occasion, DPO D I Khan Captain (retd) Najam-ul-Hasnain Liaquat said today is a very lucky day for us, on this day Pakistan came into existence, our forefathers and leaders have made eternal sacrifices for the freedom of the country and due to their sacrifices today we are breathing in the free atmosphere of Pakistan and we all have to play our role for development and prosperity.
Similarly, In Tank, A flag hoisting ceremony was also held at the DC office, Tank.
Deputy Commissioner Tank Hameedullah Khattak and District Police Officer South Waziristan Khanzeb Mohmand hoisted the national flag. The District Administration of Tank also organized the Jashn-e-Azadi rally, the rally was started in Deputy Commissioner’s office Tank and was led by Deputy Commissioner Tank Hameedullah Khattak.
The rally was attended by DPO South Waziristan Khanzeb Mohmand, Assistant Commissioners of Tank and South Waziristan, other Civil and Police Officials, students, civil society organizations, and people from different walks of life. Apart from this, a huge national flag was hoisted on the Sadar Plaza in Tank by the Chairman of the Saraiki National Movement, Mauz Arain. Bhettani Youth Movement also organized the Jashn-e-Azadi Motorbike rally in Tank. A Jashn-e-Azadi event was also organized by the Sector Headquarters Frontier Corps South at Captain Sikandar Shaheed FC Camp, Tank.
Gomal Scouts also organized a special Independence Day function at Manzai, Tank.
