The 4-day polio campaign is being launched in Dera Ismail Khan District from August 15 to August 22 under the aegis of the Health Department.
In this regard, a program was held at the warehouse of the Health Department in which supplies were distributed among the polio staff.
On this occasion, Deputy District Health Officer D I Khan Dr. Hafiz Mohammad Farooq Gul Bhettanni said Dera Ismail Khan District has been divided into two blocks for the current campaign in connection with the polio campaign.
The first block includes Tehsil D I Khan, Tehsil Prova and Tehsil Paharpur while the second block includes Tehsil Kulachi, Tehsil Daraban and merged tribal Tehsil Darazinda.
The Polio campaign in Block I will be conducted from August 15 to August 18 and in Block II polio campaign will be conducted from August 19 to August 22.
Deputy District Health Officer Dera Dr. Hafiz Mohammad Farooq Gul Bhettanni added, in the recent campaign, together with the polio vaccine, Fractionated Injectable Polio Vaccine (IPV) will be injected with the sophisticated injectable gun, the injectable gun is shaped like a stapler.
He further said, special training has been provided to the staff consisting of 1598 vaccinators, during the polio campaign, a total of more than 3 Lac children up to 5 years of age will be vaccinated. Apart from this, special measures have also been taken for the security of polio teams.
The Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) officials, District Health Officer Dera Dr. Mahmood Jan Bhettanni, Deputy District Health Officer Dera Dr. Hafiz Mohammad Farooq Gul Bhettanni and other officials participated in the distribution ceremony of polio supplies.
