US announces grant of $1 million for Pakistan

On Friday, the United States made public its intention to provide Pakistan with a disaster relief grant of one million dollars so that the country may handle the issues that have arisen as a result of natural disasters such as floods.

Donald Blome, the United States Ambassador to Pakistan, made the announcement about the funding at a meeting in Karachi with Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Chief Minister of Sindh. According to the United States ambassador in Pakistan, the humanitarian assistance is being funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This assistance will help the agriculture community of Sindh as well as Pakistan’s disaster management authorities in the provinces of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan strengthen their preparedness and response capabilities in the face of floods and other emergencies.

Blome said that the people of the United States stood in solidarity with the people of Pakistan at this difficult time, and she added, “Our hearts are with the families who lost loved ones in the floods throughout Pakistan and who are also struggling with the recovery efforts.”
