London – Islamabad: Youth Parliament of Pakistan hosted the most awaited webinar ‘Dialogue session for the Pakistan Youngsters with Lady Margaret College, University of Oxford to explore the opportunities for Youth.’
Youth Parliament of Pakistan organized a webinar to host a dialogue session for the Youth of Pakistan in which Principal of Lady Margaret College Professor Christine Gerrard joined as the Chief Guest to address the questions of Youngsters of Pakistan.
The session was also briefed by Doctor Maria Sultan, Director General South Asian Strategic Studies Research Institute. She explains the education policy and urges the youth to take part in Nation development. She encouraged youth activists to join SASSI and learn about International Relations, Geo Politics, and the regime change game of the world. Mr. Kashif Zaheer Kamhbo, from Riphah International University, emphasized the role of youth in the Information technology world and highlighted the demand for skills instead of degrees. He also highlighted the potential of Pakistani students abroad. Another Scholar Mr. Khurram Elahi from the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics shared his work on Allama Iqbal and emphasized the demand for a forum to preserve and present the cultural and artistic values of Pakistan to the world. Khurram emphasized that in the 75th year we couldn’t produce a single theory of social science and we are pushing the western culture only but we have to change with the world.
During the session, The Conservative Party Political fellow and Social Officer of British Envoy for Pakistan Trade MR. Sajid Hussain also expressed his interest to strengthen the ties between Pakistan and UK through different opportunities for the youth especially his team is enthusiastic to start grants for talented students. He said the Youth of Pakistan is talented and civil society relationships are important for every country to maintain diplomatic relations. President, Youth Parliament of Pakistan Mr. Ubaid Qureshi expressed his gratitude to Oxford for hosting the delegation of the Youth Parliament in Lady Margaret College Oxford University, during their delegation visit to the UK and extended the invitation to the Principal to visit Pakistan. Mr. Qureshi ensures youth parliament support to plan more initiatives for the Pakistani youth in the near future which provide opportunities for Pakistan students. He said in 75 years of the history of Pakistan, we had several unsung heroes who are the role model and their life success is the inspiration for Pakistan Youth. He also shared his remarks about Pakistan’s education system and the talent of young blood.
Chief Guest of the Session, Professor Christine shared a brief note about the Oxford Pakistan Program in which she mentioned the scholarships and other initiatives for Pakistan’s students. While addressing queries of the youth activists and students, the Principal mentioned the Pakistani student Mallala Yousafzai as a role model and emphasized the girl’s education. Oxford is also working to initiate and create more opportunities for the students of Pakistan and will take different initiatives for Pakistan’s youth. The Chairman Youth Parliament of Pakistan Mr. Abrar ul Haq emphasized the role of youth to promote national interest. He also shared the initiatives of the Youth Parliament to support and uplift the narrative of Pakistan. Ms. Maria Akbar Cabinet Member moderated the session. Secretary General Youth Parliament of Pakistan Hammad Malik shared welcome remarks and highlighted different initiatives taken by the youth Parliament of Pakistan and the role of youth in civil society.
The Youth Parliament of Pakistan delegation led by President Ubaid Qureshi recently visited the Oxford university and British Parliament to attend and participate in British Institutional activities along with other members including; Khawaja Zulqurnain, Faisal Jamshed, Maria Akbar, and Chuhdary Tayyab Nazer.
