Snapchat “to allow parents to overlook who their kids are chatting with”

Snapchat, has introduced a new plan which would allow the parents to see who their kids are connecting with. It would be under the tool called ” Family Center”. By going through it, the parents could have the overlook of all the activities that their kids are indulging themselves into.

While announcing the new policy on Tuesday 9th August, Snapchat emphasized on making the social site a safer place for kids. Since it is used by children as young as 12 to 13, the importance of presence of elder cannot be denied.

According to a statistic, around 428 million people use Snapchat on monthly basis & among this huge figure , around 20% users are 12 to 17 years old.

Not to forget that this feature will only allow the parents to see who their kids are connecting & chatting with but not what is being said or exchanged.

Snapchat is one of the fastest growing social sites and is becoming the center of attention for masses especially for young minds, amid all this, such policies are of great importance as cyber bullying and digital obliviousness can lead the naive minds to high risked dangers.

For years, these magnanimous digital companies have been under the radar of criticism for lack of kids safety. Now, this new policy by Snapchat is surely a step ahead towards safety and highly commendable.
