Venue of PTI’s protest changed from Red Zone to F-9 Park

Given that the coalition government is unwilling to budge an inch from its stated position of not allowing the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) to protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office today, the party has been forced to change the location of the protest.

According to the revised plan, members of parliament (MPs) from the party led by Asad Umar would gather in front of the Parliament House at 3:00 p.m. to protest.

Following new instructions from PTI Chairman Imran Khan, party MPs and workers would not protest outside NADRA chowk, but will instead march to F-9 Park at 6:00 PM.

Meanwhile, Imran has declared that he will address the protestors via video link at 7:00 PM.

Previously, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah directed the federal capital’s government to take strong efforts to keep PTI workers out of the Red Zone.

All highways leading to the city’s most sensitive sector were closed, and large numbers of police and Rangers were deployed to deal with the intruders.

Section 144 was enacted specifically for this reason.

A few days ago, the PTI planned a protest outside the ECP office to highlight the latter’s biased judgments against the party.

Earlier, on the orders of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, all roads leading to the federal capital’s Red Zone were sealed by placing containers on them in response to the protest announced by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office in Islamabad today.

People have been inconvenienced as a result of the closure of all five routes from Serena Chowk to the Red Zone on Thursday.

Police, Rangers, and the district administration have been told to guarantee that no protestors penetrate the Red Zone, which is the federal capital’s most sensitive location due to the presence of major structures such as Parliament House, President House, and the Supreme Court.

The former ruling party, the PTI, stated a few days ago that it will stage a protest outside the ECP headquarters in response to the latter’s discriminatory judgments against the party.
