Security plan devised for Muharram 2022 In D I Khan

The security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram 2022 was finalized for Dera Ismail Khan District, District Police Officer (DPO) told here on Friday.

Regarding the security plan, District Police Officer Captain (retd) Najam-ul-Hasnain Liaquat told the media persons about the details and said that DI Khan District has been divided into 3 zones and 8 sectors where more than 7,500 police officers and personnel will perform duties.

Sectors 1 to 4 include the limits of City and Cantt Police Stations, Sector 5 includes Dera Town and Sadar Police Stations, Sector 6 includes Kirri Khaisur, Band Korai, and Paharpur Police Stations, Sector 7 includes Prova and Gomal University Police Stations while Sector 8 include the limits of Kulachi Police Station, the in-charge of each zone will be Superintendent Police (SP) while the sector in-charge will be an officer of Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) rank.

DPO told that blockades have been set up at 96 different points on the entrance and exit points of Dera district, including circular roads across the district, in which blockades had been set up on 41 entrances and 38 exits points, Similarly, blockades had been set up at 6 places at Dera-Darya Khan Bridge, Chashma Barrage, Chanda Check Post, Ramak, Hathala, and Darazinda Check Posts and at 11 places at CRBC Bridge.

While informing about the security of mourning processions and majalis, DPO told that there are a total of 69 imambargahs in Dera district, of which 26 are licensed and 43 are traditional imambargahs, 194 small and big mourning processions will be taken out across the district till Ashura Day, of which 94 will be licensed and 100 traditional processions, a total of more than 642 mourning majlis will be held across the district, on the day of Ashura, 113 streets will be sealed from Basti Diwala and Basti Ustrana to Inner City and Circular road to Kotli Imam Hussain while security personnel will be posted on 124 roofs across the streets in the city, bomb disposal squad personnel along with police, detection dogs will accompany the procession and will clear the routes of processions.

According to the Security Plan, Elite Force, Frontier Constabulary troops will also be deployed to improve security while dealing with any emergency or unpleasant situation, Quick Reaction Forces (QRF) of the Pakistan Army will also remain alert. DPO further said that Separate control rooms have been established in the RPO office at the divisional level, in the DPO office at the district level, and in 5 tehsils. Likewise, the central wireless control room will continue to function as before.

According to The DPO, From the 1st of Muharram, there will be a complete ban on pillion riding while usage of motorcycles will be completed on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
District Police Officer Captain (retd) Najam-ul-Hasnain Liaquat appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies for the sake of the peace of the city.
