In Lahore, Factory Area police on Wednesday stormed the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) corner meeting in PP-168 ahead of the by-election in the district on July 17, 2022, and detained five of the 15 party members nominated in the case of weapon display and election code of conduct violations.
The First Information Report (FIR) was filed in response to Sub-Inspector Rashid Shakoor’s complaint claims that Ahmed Nawaz, a PTI employee, was impersonating FC employees by donning the Force’s uniform.
The report also claimed that PTI employees resisted police action and even succeeded in releasing three of their party members who were in custody.
