Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has okayed the elevated expressway project in Lahore.
The 11km long expressway project would connect Gulberg to M-2 Babu Sabu interchange connecting Lahore canal road to Gulberg, interconnecting Multan road to Ferozpur road eventually ending at Babu Sabu interchange through Gulshan-e-Ravi.
The pilot project was initially proposed in 2014 under the administration of former CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, which was approved in 2016.
Considering the increasing traffic flow in Lahore, the project has been initiated again, which would take Rs 46 billion with total land acquisition of 818 Kanals.
Punjab govt in this regard has acquired a loan from the Bank of Punjab, which would be granted in three phases.
