Due to the political squabbles between Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz and provincial assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi, the provincial government has taken down the Punjab Assembly’s official website.
As the feud between CM Hamza and Speaker Elahi continues, the province government shut down the provincial assembly’s official website on Saturday.
Members of the house were having difficulty due to the closure of the provincial assembly secretariat’s website.
According to sources, the Hamza-led provincial administration shut down the website after the assembly secretariat failed to welcome the election of the Punjab Assembly Leader.
When Speaker Elahi refused to allow the province administration to present its budget on June 15, the provincial government dissolved the Punjab Assembly’s “independent status,” placing it under the jurisdiction of the Law Department.
The Punjab Assembly has been designated as a special institute by the Law Department, and the Law Department will be responsible for issuing all notifications pertaining to the Punjab Assembly.
The services of Punjab Assembly Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti have been transferred to the Law Department.
