Rs5.27 per unit hike in electricity tariff for Karachiites

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced a Rs5.27 per unit increase in electricity prices on Friday.

The NEPRA announced the increase as part of the April fuel adjustment.

Except for those on life support, the decision will apply to all Karachi-Electric (K-Electric) customers.

K-Electric had requested a price increase of Rs5.31 per unit.

In this regard, the Authority had scheduled a hearing for June 14, 2022.

Prior to that, in March, Rs4.83 was charged to FCA customers for a one-month period.
