Okara police claimed on Wednesday that they shot dead two dacoits in an ‘encounter’ near the city’s Ahmed Town neighborhood.
According to reports, one of the robbers managed to flee.
The Force stated that three unidentified men were about to flee after robbing a man of his valuables when police arrived.
It was explained that when the men saw the cops, they opened fire, prompting the latter to retaliate, killing two outlaws and fleeing the third.
According to the police, they recovered a stolen motorcycle as well as unlicensed weapons.
It was reported that a large police contingent had cordoned off the area and that a manhunt for the fugitive had been launched.
Those killed, however, could not be identified until the publication of this story.
