Syeda Tuba reacts to Aamir Liaquat’s autopsy order

According to the orders of the judicial magistrate (East) in Karachi, the body of popular TV host and Islamic scholar Aamir Liaquat Hussain will be exhumed this Thursday (June 23) in order to determine the cause of his sudden death.

The magistrate granted a petition for a post-mortem examination of Hussain, who was discovered dead at his home earlier this month.

The order, however, elicited a negative response, and the anchorperson’s second wife, Syeda Tuba Anwar, was among those who reacted strongly.

Tuba described the exhumation of Hussain’s body a week after his death as “extremely distressing for those grieving the loss” on her official Twitter account.

She stated that if an autopsy was deemed necessary prior to Hussain’s burial, it should have been performed.

Tuba, on the other hand, stated that Allah is the final arbiter of all affairs and prayed that the process “be easy for the deceased and his acquaintances.”

“If the authorities deemed to perform a postmortem examination of #AamirLiaquat, perhaps it would’ve been better to do so on the day of his passing. To exhume his mortal remains, for a postmortem examination more than a week after his departure, is extremely distressful for those grieving this loss. However, I trust in Allah’s Will. I believe Allah Pak is the best disposer of our affairs. May Allah Pak make this easy for the deceased and the acquaintances. Aameen,” she wrote.

Hussain’s second wife was Tuba. They married in 2018, but the couple divorced after 14 months, with Tuba announcing a khula on February 9.

Earlier, Hussain’s ex-wife, Dr. Bushra Iqbal, polled supporters of the deceased televangelist’s exhumation and autopsy after his burial. She questioned the decision and urged fans to speak out because autopsies “are a painful procedure for dead people, and Islam does not allow it.”

“All of you who are fans and admirers of late Amir Liaquat Hussain, are you in favor of his postmortem? Do you want his body to go through this procedure? Do they want their own satisfaction by torturing his soul?” Bushra had written on Twitter.
