Pakistan Kissan Ittehad declares strike from December 17

BAHAWALNAGAR: The Pakistan Kissan Ittehad (PKI) declared on Friday that it would launch a protest movement against rising prices, The Asian Mirror reported.

Chairman of Pakistan Kissan Ittehad (PKI) Chaudhry Khalid Hussain said that the protest march will commence on December 17 in Balochistan.

According to the growers’ heads, they are experiencing difficulties as a result of rising prices in the country and being compelled to queue for extended periods of time to obtain fertilizers.

Fertilizer prices, according to Chaudhry, have increased by 300 percent. The PKI has asked the government to investigate the situation because farmers are the country’s backbone, and rising inflation and fertilizer prices are wreaking havoc on them.

After successful talks with Punjab Law Minister Raja Basharat, the Kisan Ittehad Pakistan announced last year that they would call off their strike.

The Kisan Ittihad had announced a protest outside the Punjab Assembly against increased wheat and sugarcane support prices.
