Indonesia to give palm oil to Pakistan on urgent basis

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s efforts to provide edible oil to the people have paid off, like Indonesia, a brotherly country has agreed to provide palm oil to Pakistan on an urgent basis.

According to official sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Indonesian President Joko Widodo over the phone on June 10th.

A Pakistani delegation visited Indonesia on the prime minister’s orders and met with the Indonesian Ministry of Commerce to discuss the supply of palm oil to Pakistan.

Ten palm oil-laden ships will arrive in Pakistan in the next two weeks from Indonesia and Malaysia.

It should be noted that Indonesia is supplying Pakistan with a total of 250,000 metric tonnes of palm oil.

Syed Murtaza Mahmood, the Federal Minister for Industries and Production, met with his Indonesian counterpart on the Prime Minister’s orders.

The Indonesian Ministry of commerce expedited the completion of all matters related to the provision of edible oil to Pakistan at the request of the Pakistani delegation.

On Tuesday, the first ship, carrying 30,000 metric tonnes of palm oil, will set sail for Pakistan (today).
