Pakistan’s cuisine ranks 47th in world
According to TasteAtlas’ 2022 World’s Best Cuisine Awards, Pakistani cuisine came in at number 47 with a 3.95 out of 5-star rating.
The top dishes in Pakistan, according to the experience travel guide to traditional food based in Bulgaria, are chapli kebab, chicken karahi, halwa poori, and shahi tukray, among others.
Along with Waris Nihari in Lahore, the top restaurants for Pakistani food are Kolachi Restaurant, Javed Nihari, and Bar. B.Q Tonight, and Ridan House of Mandi in Karachi.

According to TasteAtlas’ list, the top 10 cuisines in the world are Italian, Greek, Spanish, Japanese, Indian, Mexican, Turkish, American, and French. After Taiwan (45) and Paraguay (46), Pakistan is ranked 47th on the list.
Morocco and Norway are 94th and 95th, respectively, in the TasteAtlas list of the world’s top cuisines.
Forbes covers Pakistan’s most famous food influencer Adeel Chaudhry. Adeel Chaudhry has also been ranked as one of the top five Muslim food connoisseurs in the world in 2019. Chaudhry continues to be a part of food festivals in Dubai, where he lived for over a decade during his career in real estate.
With plans to launch Junoon’s second branch in Lahore’s Old City, next month, Chaudhry reveals that he wants to continue showcasing Pakistani cuisine – which plays a “huge role” in local culture – to foreign audiences.
“Pakistani food doesn’t get the credit it deserves and I want to change that. Our cuisine is not only original, it’s also evolving. Besides, it gives outsiders an insight into what we’re like as people: friendly and very hospitable.”
