How gruesome! Today, when I was traveling from Lahore to my home town, Pindi Bhattian, on a local route via Lahore-Islamabad motorway, I pitifully came to know how the concerned authorities are able to break the laws of this country. In fact, they are actually the root cause of every mishap being there for public as well as for the country.
This situation is alarming. Moreover, the way the officers in uniform yet on duty are fanning the flames by making themselves a part of this horrific story is no less than tragedy. Overloading in a public transport is strictly prohibited especially on motorways but the authorities appear to be turning deaf ear to such appalling situations when their palms are greased.

The real story begins when an officer of motorway police came in a fully crowded bus and did not show any concern regarding overloading. The bus-driver was welcoming and portraying him as hero. Perhaps, he was also travelling to Pindi Bhattian when the bus got in onto motorway at Shekhupura interchange. When the bus travelled almost half an hour on motorway, it was stopped by motorway police and a lady officer just came in and asked the driver to get her to next stop of her which was 30 kilometers ahead.
This is extremely appalling that she was also travelling in that crowded bus in which an officer was already present but none of them showed any concern. They even did not bother. They are meant to check and balance such horrible situations but they seem to be playing on other ground. It is, therefore, the high officials of concerned authorities are deplorably requested to take serious cognizance of this horrific news.
