Having witnessed the 2-day CFM summit of OIC held in Islamabad, it must be said that OIC ought to take practical steps beyond conversations and dialogues. The truth is that ever since its inception 53 years ago, the organization comprising 57 Muslim countries has been focusing on mere lip service, with little or no practical steps taken for solving the problems of Muslims. It is a matter of great shame and disgrace that the organization claiming to represent almost 1.7 billion Muslims of the world has failed miserably in relation to Kashmir and Palestine and the Muslims there are constantly being brutalized and oppressed by the Zionist and Hindu regimes. When the Afghan Taliban created their government in Kabul after emphatically defeating the US and its allies after 20 years of fierce war, all Muslim member states of the OIC should have recognized them immediately. However, the presence of the Chinese FM in the OIC CFM Islamabad summit and his statement that China wants to foster good relations with all Muslim countries is a welcome development. The PM of Pakistan rightly stated in his address to the summit that the time is nigh for the Muslim Ummah to make its own block. It is imperative for all Muslim countries to be united, get rid of their petty conflicts, and unify themselves as one unit becoming an immovable object in from not of the malevolent forces that the nefarious designs of the enemies of Islam could be thwarted.
