The terrorist attack during the Jumu’ah prayers in the Markazi Jamia Masjid of the Shia community in Kucha Risaldar, Qisa Khwani Bazar in Peshawar represents a sick and cruel mindset. The enemies of Islam and Pakistan have chosen a specific time for this terrorist attack. Pakistan had received veiled as well as open threats from India on the resumption of international sporting activities in the country after a long hiatus. Moreover, after the refusal of Pakistan to support the US narrative regarding Russia and adopting a policy of neutrality on the Ukraine conflict, such reports had surfaced in the media that our enemies would try to create disturbance in Pakistan. Under these circumstances, the security of all public places, including Mosques, must be made foolproof so that the citizens of Pakistan are protected from the evil designs of the terrorists. The government must take stern action and develop a robust strategy to crush the terrorists and their facilitators.
