Why VC Quaid e Azam University accused of giving land to CDA? Find out

The Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) faculty members have accused Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah of giving the Capital Development Authority (CDA) the university’s land for the Bhara Kahu bypass project.

They claimed that the vice chancellor kept the faculty in the dark about the university land being included in the Bhara Kahu bypass project because he was a board member and had attended the CDA meeting.

They claimed that the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohammad Ali-led QAU syndicate had given the civic organization permission to proceed with the project’s work. They said that attempts to resolve the problem through meetings of the so-called joint working group (JWG) of the CDA and the QAU would be fruitless.

The faculty said that following the QAU syndicate meeting, the university’s land was doomed and that the municipal organization, which had just stated that it would be allocating 225 Kanal without mentioning where had deprived it of the best land.

The CDA had indicated that alternative property will be given to the university to address the problem caused by the Bhara Kahu bypass project.

The bypass project would have been finished, or possibly in its latter stages, according to the faculty members, who said until the working group and university administration made a decision.

They claimed that the vice chancellor of QAU had a negative influence on the entire process and had kept the academic staff association and university faculty in the dark about the development work being done on university property.

They claimed that it turned out afterward that the contractor had been given access to the university land by the CDA, who cleared the area of trees and other vegetation before beginning work on the project.

They claimed that the vice chancellor’s unambiguous position on the matter has not yet emerged and that it should be understood that the game was over. They added that the working group will also recommend that the university be given access to an alternative land.

The land swap agreement with the CDA had already received conditional approval from the QAU syndicate, and vice chancellor Dr. Mohammad Ali of the university had asked the JWG to complete its recommendations for addressing all outstanding difficulties between the institution and the government body.

Beforehand, the QAU management team, teachers, and students protested the CDA for incorporating the university’s property into the Bhara Kahu bypass project without first obtaining the university’s consent.
