Since Imran Khan has been removed from power through a vote of no-confidence, he is continuously blaming the US for conspiring against his government and demanding fresh elections and refusing to change his position in early elections. He is continuously making rallies in all cities across Pakistan. Now his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaff party (PTI) has announced a long march which they called Azadi March (Freedom March) on 25th May 2022. Imran wants immediate dissolution of assemblies and dates for early elections. However, he has asked the military to strict with its stated stance of being neutral. He is inciting civil war.
Imran Khan came into power in 2018, with the slogan of fighting corruption, bringing reforms to police, judiciary, and all state institutions that had never been seen before in the history of Pakistan. But in three and half years of his rule reviving the economy, controlling inflation, and promising of bringing reforms were not seen practically. Even he said he can not come into power to check the price of potatoes.
During his three-year tenure inflation, rising prices, and bad governance were at their peak. His coalition partners and most of his own party MNA’s were not happy with the way of his governance and rising inflation. United opposition took the advantage of the situation and moved a no-confidence motion against him which they succeed. Imran Khan became the first PM in the history of Pakistan who was thrown by a no-confidence motion.
Since he is out of power he is deliberately making state institutions army, Judiciary, and Election Commission of Pakistan controversial. Actually, he is maligning the state institution and pressurizing them. when the judiciary gave a decision against his unconstitutional act of dissolving Parliament and blocking the no-confidence motion. He started to blame the judiciary. He plunged Pakistan into a major constitutional crisis and has done most the things unconstitutional just to save his government. He is trying to build such a narrative to become a political Martyr. He has broken the hopes of millions of people because people were very optimistic about Imran khan and that he has the ability to bring Pakistan out of problems but he did nothing.
Imran Khan is taking the credit for his tour to Russia and saying he wants good relations with Russia. But it is all his political mantra. All know that strengthening ties with Russia was a state policy, not Khan’s personnel policy or choice and now he is just taking advantage. Now Imran Khan is fighting for his Narrative of foreign conspiracy and the whole of his narrative is based on it and he is doing every wrong thing just to save his party repo.
After the recent development in political affairs in Pakistan and the ouster of Imran Khan’s PTI gov’t, the hatred, negativity, ill-treatment, intolerance, propaganda, and abuse have increased against the opponents and state institutions. Imran Khan’s political mantra is dividing the nation. Imran Khan declared half of Parliament a traitor. Through fake accounts and disinformation Imran Khan’s party is creating uncertainty in the country for his political interest. His workers are blaming the judiciary, Army, and other state institutions. Social media campaigns were started against the army and judiciary. Anti army slogans were raised in PTI rallies. Anyone who left or criticize, the PTI gov’t or the PTI party, they were trolled, harassed and even a social media campaign started against them. They are using social media platforms against their opponents, blaming them, abusing them, and mentally torcher them as an opponent.
Imran Khan is the only leader in Pakistan who had been given full support by the state institutions to run his gov’t to bring Pakistan in the right direction but despite full support, he failed to do so. In his first speech before taking the oath, he had said accountability will start with him but we have seen, that it was just his statement. No doubt he is not corrupt personally but his slogan of eradication of corruption died when he started to defend Fahra Gogi who is a friend of his wife, whose assets worth doubled during his regime. Two of his minister were involved in changing the map and diversion plan of the Rawalpindi Ring Road Project and he was knowing those names but he did not take any action. He himself is using delaying tactics on foreign funding case which is still pending in the Election commission of Pakistan since 2014. He is not ready to provide full evidence and details of his accounts in which his part received foreign funding. He always told the Nation that he will bring Pakistan’s looted money from abroad, but gov’t failed to prosecute and did not get back even a single rupee. Now his former advisor for accountability Shahzad Akbar left Pakistan soon after the ouster of gov’t.
After enjoying four years of power, Imran Khan has nothing to tell the nation about the achievement and progress of what he did for the People who voted for him. Who sit for him for 126 days in Darna at Islamabad. Before gov’t he was on Kantaner, during the gov’t it seems he was on Kantaner and now again he is on Kantaner. His party workers are continuously listening same speeches every day without any change. Everybody, who supports Imran Khan, his party, and his narrative is loyal and Patriot, but anyone who oppose him, his part, and his narrative is a traitor.
After his speeches and public rhetoric, polarization increased in society, nobody is ready to listen to others’ arguments. People are ready to fight because Imran Khan created division and injected the venom of hatred into the mind of his worker and followers. Ultimately this venom will cause Pakistan and only Pakistan will pay the price. Imran Khan wants to play with fire at a time when the country’s economy is on the brink of collapse and terrorist attacks are increasing in the country. He just wants to put the nation at risk by creating a law and order situation in the country, which Pakistan can not afford. Khan is using Islam as a tool and defaming state institutions for his political objectives and for getting power again.
