Freedom is a state of not being imprisoned. Sometimes “freedom” is associated with having free will and being without undue. We are blinded by the illusion of freedom that we become slaves of our own freedom. In addition, it applies to every aspect of our lives.
Pakistan came into being in August 1947 and declared itself an independent state to the world, but is it free? The most difficult question to answer.
Let us suppose the state is free, what about people living in it, are they free in their own state? Alternatively, we just switched to being prisoners of our own politicians instead of Hindus or British. Maybe it brings us the satisfaction that we are no more in control of “non-Muslims”.
Right now, Pakistan’s political situation is really a hot topic for everyone and everyone is adding their views and opinions to spice it up more. However, the main question is, is there any year? Era? When Pakistan’s political system was stable? 73 years have passed and we are still stuck on who is going to have the power to rule people. Pakistan’s downfall is in its politician’s hands, while they are ironically ignoring everything and staying focused on their “chair”. Audacity is impressive in that they are making speeches about the betterment of the state if they are elected. People are being killed in the name of religion. Corruption is being normalized, as it is a basic instinct to survive.
Education getting expensive and terrorism getting cheaper and still the most focused question right now is whether Imran Khan will be able to be Prime Minister in the next election or not. It does not matter if everyone is having access to food and basic needs of life but it is important that when will be Nawaz Sharif back to Pakistan. Everyone is terrified that how Pakistan will survive from other countries but what about Pakistanis who are being killed at the hands of their own leader. Pakistan is facing poverty while politicians have uncountable property made in foreign countries. Isn’t it the most horrifying moment for us?
Moreover, our political system has the most illiterate people who are running the state and it is now kind of amusing that educated people are being neglected and then the question raises about unemployment. Violence comes from corner to corner in Pakistan. Women are hurt the most by home cruelty. Additionally, many violent cases in Madrassas or schools are told in the news. At the state level, activism and religious violence are typical examples. The damage to public property by some terrorist groups is a significant example of the violence of religion in Pakistan. Furthermore, Pakistan has kept on a terror target since 2001, and still, people blame each other rather than question the political system.
