Political kurfuffle in Pakistan

Pakistan keeps on facing different wellsprings of inner and outer contentions. While rates of domestic terrorism have diminished partially because of measures taken by the State of Pakistan, radicalism and intolerance of variety have developed. There is some acknowledgment by the state that rather than only dynamic responses, comprehensive counterterrorism arrangements are expected to neutralize this trend. The developing extremism has been energized by a restricted vision of people’s perspectives instead of broad viewpoints, threatening the nation’s possibility for social attachment and stability. After a month of the political crisis in Islamabad, the inability of state institutions to provide peaceful ways to resolve grievances has encouraged groups to seek violence as a legitimate alternative. An alliance of Opposition parties and a Bloc in Imran Khan’s own Party successfully eliminated Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan in a vote of no confidence on April 10. Afterward, on April 11, voted in opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif as the new prime minister, seems constitutional. However, Imran Khan reflects on Foreign involvement that regime change took place in the country.

According to Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, the major reason for foreign involvement was his high-profile visit to Moscow in late February, arranged well before Russia invaded Ukraine, to seek Russian help in the energy crisis. Instead, he visited Russia and the United States and did not want Pakistan to play a role in the US war against Russia.

The voting on the No-confidence motion occurred after the Supreme Court of Pakistan got involved via Suo Moto, suspected before Khan attempted to go against the constitution. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), to excuse the movement and move straightforwardly to new elections, decided to solve assemblies after the ruling given by Deputy Speaker that the No Confidence motion is a foreign planned agenda is UN constitutional. Khan stays stuck to his claims of foreign involvement regardless of his ouster, charging an international conspiracy against him and decrying his opponents, and abandoning party individuals as traitors to the nation. His followers keep on revitalizing the nation over. Imran Khan blamed the United States for supporting the no-confidence motion against him, accused his adversaries of planning with the United States, and tried to situate himself as a safeguard of the country’s foreign policy independence.

The role of the deep state or establishment, we say, cannot be undermined in this regard. Ex-Prime Minister claims to get in touch with high military officials before leaving Prime Minister house, saying the no-confidence motion is the hit on integrity on the state of Pakistan not just on himself but on Pakistan, as it is the direct foreign involvement supported by “deciphered document received’ to Pakistan about the discussion between United States’ officials and Pakistani Ambassador in the USA. It is believed that the Military decided to be neutral as they have nothing to do with Politics. However, this Military stance and people looking forward to following Imran Khan’s claims might have affected the Military’s image in the eyes of people.

Strong Economics help countries grow; as of now, Pakistan faces serious economic challenges and needs political stability to overcome inflation and downgrade the Rupee value. For economies to get strong, countries rely on huge investments. In current times, PML(N) government Investors hesitate to invest in unstable economies with unstable political situations where the government knows they will be unable to complete the democratic term. This instability might cause bigger problems, and we can expect more inflation rates and a devaluing rupee in the near times. Even government itself might face problems in framing policies as they are unaware of how many months they are going to be in government; hence failed policies with political and economic instability might push the country to a place where return gets difficult.

The question appears to how Imran Khan’s stance again the US for conspiring a regime change will impact Pak-US future relations. Even though PTI supporters or followers have taken across the country to the streets in mass rallies, they have been genuinely peaceful. However, they will be enough power for the current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government to fight temporarily. The public is not happy that Imran Khan has been removed from the position that he deserves and replaced by a person who was already in many corruption cases—but now holding the office of Prime minister of Pakistan. On one Ex-Prime minister’s call, people came out of their homes and supported him. In public opinion, power matters and have value and could be a strength for him to fight with it. In this case, people seem to be Imran Khan’s power.

Saving the political disturbance, the new government is confronting a weakened economy with inflation, a powerless rupee, and none other but developing poverty. Tragically, the normal Pakistani is feeling the trickery of these economic troubles. It turns out to be more challenging for them to manage the cost of regular necessities like food, fuel, etc. Notwithstanding these financial difficulties, the following government should address various achievements in 2022. This includes the accommodation of Pakistan’s yearly spending plan for June 2022, the finish of Pakistan’s ongoing IMF program in September 2022, and the selection of a new chief of armed force staff as the officeholder’s team terminated in November 2022.

Media plays a very significant role in our society, and it depends on how we take advantage of it or how media builds narrative among people. During current circumstances, media sets hashtags and trends from one side of the planet to the other. New political media are types of correspondence that work with the creation, dispersal, and trade of political substance on stages and inside the network that oblige cooperation and collaboration. New media have wide-running implications for democratic and political practices. They have changed the political media framework and re-imagined the job of writers. They have redefined the way elections are contested and how citizens engage in politics.
