The oppressed Kashmiri nation is leading the world’s longest movement for independence. At the time of the Partition of India, this oppressed nation could not get the right to vote and the joint conspiracy and effort of British and Hindus pushed them to the abyss of slavery. For the Kashmiri nation, October 26, 1947, was marked by a new story of persecution when Maharaja Hari Singh, the ruler of the state, fled Srinagar and took refuge in New Delhi, and according to Lord Mountbatten, Governor-General of India, he signed an agreement Under which the region of Jammu and Kashmir was given to India. The day after this “agreement” ie on 27th October 1947, the Indian forces landed at Srinagar airport, and then that day and today the promise was made to the Kashmiri nation that they will be given the “right to vote” that promise has not been fulfilled yet.
India says that the Maharaja of Kashmir had given the entire region to it in written form of agreement, so India is now the owner and sovereign of Kashmir. In practice, there was no such agreement. Mountbatten, the last British Viceroy to implement the Partition of India, became the Governor-General of India and marked the decision in India’s favor without any document of accession to Pakistan.
After the Indian troops landed in Srinagar, the Governor-General of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had ordered the Chief of his Armed Forces, British General Douglas Gracey, to join forces in Kashmir and establish Pakistan’s occupation of Kashmir. He refused to comply with the order, citing excuses. In the meantime, when the Kashmiri people rose up against the atrocities of the Dogra army, our tribal people had come to support them and they had succeeded in liberating the present Azad Kashmir. In this struggle, India itself cried out, shouted at the United Nations for a ceasefire, and that India promised to give the Kashmiri people the right to vote soon.
In the same period, India killed millions of Muslims in Jammu and displaced Muslims from a large area, while the occupied Jammu region was converted to a Hindu majority instead of a Muslim majority. The whole world was watching the spectacle but no one was willing to put pressure on India. Because of this injustice and oppression, the Kashmiri nation finally decided to fight for independence again in the 1980s after the failure of all political struggles.
On February 11, 1984, Maqbool Butt, a resident of the Terhagam area in Kupwara district of Occupied Kashmir, was hanged by India in Tihar Jail because he had attacked Indian interests. India was well aware that this execution would become a shackle around its own neck. However, India did not even hand over the body of Maqbool Butt to his family and buried Maqbool Butt in Kothar Jail. For more than two years, the Kashmiri nation has been knocking on every door of the world to be given only the body of their son, but when there was no hearing from anywhere, then the Kashmiri nation decided to fight.
In June 1986, Kashmiris started a jihadi movement from Srinagar. While thousands of Kashmiris crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and reached Azad Kashmir, thousands of people said goodbye to education, business and home forever and took refuge in icy ditches, ravines, and 15,000 feet high snowy peaks. And every day for freedom the bites began to die. India started using every tactic to suppress these Kashmiris by force and shed so much blood of Kashmiris that at present there is no family in occupied Jammu and Kashmir in which there is no martyr, prisoner, disabled or missing person from home. There is no family whose property has not been burned, demolished, destroyed, or looted. During this period, one lakh youngsters, children, old people, and women of the Kashmiri nation have been martyred. More than 22,000 women have been widowed and more than 100,000 children have been orphaned.
There have been more than 10,000 incidents of sexual abuse of women. The situation at the moment is that every young Kashmiri has an Indian soldier with a gun strapped to his head that if he did anything against the will of India, he would blow it up and this is happening every day. The bodies of youngster and children are rising from every area every day but no Kashmiri is ready to bow his head in front of Baharat Sarkar (India).
The Kashmir is a region which the founder of Pakistan had declared as the “aab e zam zam” of his homeland that the water of all the rivers irrigating Pakistan flows from the beauty of Kashmir.
Even today, they are so anxious to join Pakistan that the green crescent flag of Pakistan is waved there every day. Just think of the days and nights of those families in Kashmir whose innocent children are raided and picked up in the middle of the night and then tortured in the penitentiaries from Jammu to Tihar and Rajasthan. They are sent to another world in agony, but no institution, individual, organization, or country in the world talks about it. In many parts of Azad Kashmir, refugee camps of Occupied Kashmir are still established which are living a very difficult and miserable life here but are not ready to return to Occupied Kashmir.
India was not ready to give the Kashmiri people the right to vote even after the execution of their fathers Maqbool Butt and Afzal Guru. What kind of world is this where Indonesia is broken up into East Timor and Sudan is broken up into South Sudan but no one listens to the voice of Kashmiris. The fact is that the Kashmiri nation has high hopes for the Pakistani nation for its advocacy and support after the Allah Almighty.
If Pakistan truly holds the hand of the Kashmiri nation which is irrigating Pakistani fields and orchards with their blood, then the day is not far when Kashmir will become independent and become the part of Pakistan. And threats to Pakistan’s borders, agriculture, and geography will also be averted.
It remains to be seen what role Pakistan and the Pakistani nation will play in the liberation of Kashmir. And demonstrate “Kashmir by the sword”. We should not establish any connection with this tyrant, usurper, murderer, terrorist and greatest enemy till the independence of Kashmir. If we make Kashmir’s independence our goal, it will be the biggest step towards fulfilling our ideology and geography.
