Water (English), Su (Turkish), I’eu (French), Wasser (German) is one of the most basic necessities of life. It’s important to all living creatures big or small. The vital role of water can be judged by the fact that almost 60% of the human body is made up of water. In any form, water holds prime importance in the circle of life.
Water is not simply a drink but it helps humans in many other ways and protects the human body from acidity as water keeps the PH level normal. Water safeguards our tissues and spinal cord and also helps to digest food. It has been found that drinking enough water makes the human brain work properly. Drinking enough water can keep the human body safe from many problems like Urinary Tract Infections, kidney stones, and hypertension. Not only for humans but water is important in every field of life as well. In the form of rain, water helps plants to grow and they directly affect human life, rain helps in agriculture which also is important for humans.
Water helps every creature to stay clean and keeps the environment clean as well. As Homo sapiens, we take showers to remove the dirt from our bodies, we wash our clothes to remove stains, we wash dishes and we give baths to our pets and domestic animals. All of this leads to a better environment to live in. Cleanliness for Muslims is also religiously vital, so water helps in becoming better versions of ourselves both physically and religiously.
Water also helps in generating power. Using high-speed water one can produce hydroelectric power. Not only is this renewable but it is safe to use. It creates lakes that can overcome drought, all with the help of the power given by water. Unfortunately, humans are abusing this blessing and things have gotten out of hand. Humans have disturbed the food chain by ruining aquatic life. Factories are built that release chemical straight into rivers and lakes; destroying them. Sewage water from homes and offices ends up in freshwater making it polluted. Due to the global warming caused by humans, the rivers of Pakistan have lost almost all water.
Water scarcity has led to many deaths throughout the globe. Fresh water is available only in some countries and people who have this blessing do not use it wisely. Taking long showers, using the dishwasher half full, leak pipes and many other things are leading to a bigger problem; water scarcity. It was predicted that World War III will be because of the lack of water. The ignorance of the fact that not only humans but other creatures also need fresh water has disturbed the ecosystem and food chain. Fishes are becoming endangered because of disruption in their homes. Polluted water is causing a number of health problems like hepatitis, and typhoid and is a great threat to animals living on the surface and in water. It goes without saying that humans have misused their blessing of water.
