“There is freedom of speech, but I cannot guarantee freedom after speech,” said Idi Amin.
On 23 October 2022, time struck and it was the darkest time for the Pakistan and Pakistan media as a brave, strong, and powerful honest man was killed by gunshot in Kenya. When Pakistani news channels break this news I was extremely in shock as the man Arshad Sharif who was now the only man in his home who was taking care of his family after the death of his father and brother. We don’t know how much pain he was as he was raising his voice for justice and truth to be shown in the media. What was his sin, what was his fault, that he was killed or ask by some to kill him as he was the one who was fighting for what is right and so sad to say that when I saw tweets of some of the honorable leaders that whoever will talk like this will face this?
As a nation, we should be ashamed that we have these types of leaders. As everyone was sad and some of our respected leaders and their family members were celebrating Diwali in the UK. As much as I am concerned who asked him to leave Pakistan when he left Pakistan he when to Dubai and was deported who asked Dubai Government to deport him. As it was very heartwrenching for him to leave his beloved country.
Living in this country and after studying the “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” in which we get to know that everyone has the right to speak and say whatever they want so living in Pakistan it hurts a lot that the law of our country is so black it can be sold in some amount and it does not even stand with the truth. Arshad was killed by those who threatened him. Because he was investigating their black money and things which they have in the UK and those are bought by the money of Pakistani people’s Tax.
This was the only thing that laid him o death. They are not humans who killed him they are black sheep who killed him to save themself because they were scared of the truth which was to be brought by him to the media. They don’t even think about his family his children who were so depressed after the death of their grandfather and uncle. These black sheep only have a love for materialistic people and things. Who will be answerable for his murder? Who will fight for him? Now as a nation it is time to stand and hang the culprits who stopped him to raise his voice to the truth he was not fighting for the future he was fighting for the whole nation. He was not just a journalist he was a hero and will remain always a hero. The state has no right to kill someone who is raising his stance or view what he thinks as if someone will stand and raise his voice will be killed again if we didn’t stand for those black sheep who can easily kill those who raise their voice as they are dump like those who killed Arshad what was his fault just standing and raising his voice for the right thing.
