Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi nowadays plays a very charismatic role in Pakistani politics. A leader who is ruling over millions of hearts and become a nightmare to his opponents. After the recent by-elections, Imran Khan showed his importance in the current scenario. He fought against his opponent as a beast and also succeeded to build a narrative that Cartels should now stay away from politics. He smashed the political stature of Jhangir Khan Tareen, Aleem Khan, and so on and on in the politics of Punjab and also weakened the position of PML-N all over the country as well.
PML-N is now on the back foot and trying to maintain their previous image in front of the public which was built by Nawaz Sharif and Mariyam Nawaz, but after nominating Shahbaz Sharif for the post of prime minister and Hamza Shahbaz for Chief Minister they totally ruined the narrative of Nawaz Sharif and Mariyam which was “vote ko izzat do” and civil supremacy. On which they were trying to set a pitch for upcoming elections. According to sources Mian Nawaz Sharif rejected the policy of regime change because he thought if they changed the government their narrative would end and it give a clear path to Khan, but then the Godfather of reconciliation entered into the game and according to Zardari he offered the position of Prime minister to Shahbaz Sharif on which he became shocked and asked how is it possible?
Zardari the king of reconciliation already talked to the Mengals, Bugtis, and other allies of the PTI government to left the government and join their alliance. When they showed their consent to join the new regime then Zardari started working on his new formula which is minus PML-N. He lured Shahbaz Sharif by giving him the opportunity to become the next premier and raised him against the policy of Nawaz Sharif which was a rejection of regime change. He cleverly organized two blocks within PML-N pro-establishment and anti-establishment. After many struggling years, the right-wing PML-N succeeded to build up a narrative that was civil supremacy and all the leaders and workers were on the same page, but Zardari wisely set aside this narrative after making the Shahbaz Sharif the new premier. It is famous in public that Chotay Mian is pro while badly Mian spent 3 years building up a narrative of civil supremacy which was finally destroyed when the in-house change happened and a Prime Minister with majority removed with the slogan of “Vote ko izzat do” it disappointed many intellectual supporters of PML-N who were supporters their narrative of civil supremacy.
In recent elections, Imran khan clean bowled his opponents and also give a message to institutions that one Imran Khan is enough for the whole PDM and also ready to lead the Great march against the PDM government. This victory gives a lot of confidence to PTI leaders and workers that they will organize a big march against the government and also become successful to get the date of the general elections which is their ultimate priority in the current situation.
Khan’s recent victory smashed the image of PML-N in Punjab as well. He defeated Abid Sher Ali from Faisalabad from where the Interior Minister of Pakistan also belongs, but surprisingly Ali Moosa Gillani won against Mehrbano Qureshi from Multan which was in the recent past considered a fort of PTI and Shah Mahmood Qureshi. This victory of Ali Moosa also gives confidence to Imran khan that PTI is nothing without Imran Khan and that minus Imran Khan formula will never be successful because there were rumors that after disqualifying Imran Khan Shah Mahmood will be considered as the new party chairman.
On the other hand, it was more profitable to PPP and Zardari that they succeeded in establishing a foothold in South Punjab which was once their hub. Khan was also defeated by Hakim Baloch. He won against Imran khan this is the real game behind the whole regime change. The game of Zardari. Game of minus PML-N Imran khan nowadays only opposes the PML-N while the PPP also has a similar role in the regime change, but Bilawal and Zardari played wisely to build relationships with the establishment as well as the public when the audio leaks happened Bilawal stood neutral. He neither bashed the Khan nor supported the Shahbaz. He gave a statement that these leaks raised questions about our security and demanded an inquiry. This is a technique to attract the public towards himself and make good terms with both parties. Many leaders of PML-N and PTI supported Bilawal on his stance and also appreciated him as well. Imran khan totally ignored the Pakistan people’s party in the recent past. Now Imran khan trying to maintain a good relationship with the public and put pressure on PML-N and the establishment to announce the date of the general elections.
On the other hand, PPP is totally neutral they are not even in Khan’s target and not against PML-N. After supporting PML-N they become successful to create a soft corner in the hearts of PML-N Punjab workers the recent victory of Ali Moosa Gillani is evidence that speaks for itself. PPP also become successful to maintain good terms with the establishment the result of which is the victory of both the candidates of the Pakistan People’s party who were fielded by them.
