Challenges, opportunities, and soft image of Pakistan

The diamond jubilee of Pakistan was commemorated with zeal and traditional fervor. The whole nation stood up and celebrated the country’s 75th independence day. The most amazing, entertaining, and diverse stuff has been shown on social media about independence celebrations. The Children rushed into the streets and kept manufacturing sounds of baaja (horn), which has become a tradition for the Pakistanis to celebrate independence day. The social media has displayed some entertaining videos of ringing Baja’s and a bit of annoyance too. The day of 75th independence has passed like previous independence days, but the memories of sacrifices are still fresh. Amid all the challenges and unprecedented economic and political turmoil, the positive thing is that people have still hopes for the country’s bright future.

Our country faced unusual challenges inside and outside the borders. From the creation of the country, four elite classes ruled the country; landowners, the bureaucratic, military, and religious elite. Some individuals from all factions of those elite groups put spoke in the wheel of country development and prosperity. At the outset, stifles among ruling classes put the country in a dire state. All the mess of behemoths fell on a street man. Over the years, this country is crossing hilly and rocky paths without a fixed direction. Clocks are ringing for many years to awake the nation from a long slumber, but the nation is awaiting for a Messiah to get rid of all the economic and political injustice.

The bloodsucker leeches from an elite ruling class suck the blood of the country and fell it from the hill to nil. Now the time is to heal all the wounds and fix the direction for making the country economically invincible and formidable. All the possible steps are the need of the hour to end the economic and political unrest. Above mentioned challenges directly are hurting our country’s image Internationally, but still, we have a soft picture to show the world what we have and what we are. Pakistan has diverse flora and fauna in the world. It is rich in natural resources and one of the best destinations to visit. It is blessed with virgin beaches, green lands, lavish mountains, and fresh valleys. Pakistan is the hub of four major religions of the subcontinent; Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam. All the religions have some historical and ancient bases in this country.

Along with natural beauty, We have some giants in sports, art, literature, and culture too. In those fields, many personalities earned repute and raise the flag of the country in the world. In the recent 2022 commonwealth games, our athletes hoisted a green flag with the moon and stars. Sports, art, literature, culture, history, nature, and natural resources can build and portray a positive image of Pakistan in the world. In the recent past, many personalities who served this country faced economic and social injustices. Unfortunately, along with many issues, we are unable to serve our benefactors. This unfortunate tradition should end and national heroes should be served.

Recently, the Sindh text board included the biography of the former captain Sarfraz Ahmad in the Urdu book of fourth class. This historical step of the Sindh government caught up heights and was applauded by the netizens. Sarfaraz Ahmad served the cricket team enthusiastically during the grave times. Firstly, he united the scattered squad, then learn them how to fight in the field by performing the leading roles.

He won an under 19 cricket world cup for the country in 2006 and then made history by winning the 2017 Champions trophy. He deserves this appreciation and the next generations will know about their real hero. This notch of the Sindh government is the first drop of hope for paying tribute to real national heroes. All the icons who served this country should be included in textbooks to make aware kid about the services of national heroes. Those steps will create passion in youth to do something unusual and special for the country. This is also necessary because in the words of a late Indonesian leader Soekarno, ” A great nation is a nation that respects the services of the hero.”

Like Pakistan, most of the nations in the world are facing challenges of economic recession, security, energy and water crisis, and environmental degradation. Those issues can be overcome through long-term effective policies and political acumen and insights. But, the promotion of a soft image requires national passion. Through soft image, we can also eradicate our rusty wounds which were inflicted by greedy ruling masters for their vested interests. Great nations value their heroes, value their benefactors, and value their thinkers, do we?
