Being a GenZ, I get to hear a lot from my grandparents about how they used to purchase a sack of wheat in a few Ana’s (it was a medium of exchange at that time). Well, that seems like a distant dream now as inflation has taken over our lives completely. Even though inflation is prevalent everywhere in the world now, it has affected Pakistan more than others. That’s because despite facing inflation and other issues, other countries are rising towards success whereas Pakistan is heading towards the relatively lower end of the spectrum. Unfortunately, in today’s time, Pakistan is stuck in its self-created political circus.
Amongst various other problems, inflation is one of the biggest issues this country is facing currently. Skyrocketing increase in inflation has reached those dangerous levels which were never seen or even heard before. Survival of the common man has become extremely difficult. Not only that but even highly paid professionals are worried about the present and the next upcoming inflation flood too.
In today’s time, the war between Russia and Ukraine plays an integral role in this increased inflation rate across the globe, due to which diesel and petrol rates have also risen exponentially. Previous stable markets have crashed, dollar rates are very high, and local traders are facing immense losses.
Grocery items have become unaffordable for people. People are opting for double-shift jobs so that they can make ends meet. There is chaos among people. I think it’s our fault too because poor policied and ill management of our government is making the situation worse. I think it’s our fault too because we select leaders on a lame and vague basis; poor policies and ill management of our government are making the situation worse.
All our politicians are indulged in their own separate wars. They are highly absorbed in their own motives and nobody is really thinking about the poor majority of this nation. Thus, in my opinion, we as a nation should stand together and not get jumped onto the bandwagon of different political parties, and instead of fighting among ourselves, we need to hold each other up and stop these politicians to ruin our country. We need to stop corruption by removing corrupt people from our nation and also doing some introspection which will be very valuable for ourselves as well as for our country. Pakistan needs to increase the export of goods and services which will eventually strengthen Pakistan’s currency.
