Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif telephoned Chief Adviser of Bangladesh government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus on Friday.
During the conversation, both the leaders decided to work together for the progress and prosperity of the people of both countries, reported The Asian Mirror.
The two leaders also agreed that greater regional cooperation could play an important role in improvng the lives of the people of South Asia, said a PM Office press release issued in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Professor Muhammad Yunus on assuming the office of Chief Adviser and praised his contribution to the socio-economic development of Bangladesh.

He expressed sympathies over the devastation caused by the recent floods in Bangladesh.
The prime minister highlighted the importance of revitalizing bilateral relations through enhanced cooperation in different domains.
Noting the historical, religious and cultural bonds between Pakistan and Bangladesh, he expressed a keen desire to boost commercial relations, cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts.

On the occasion, Chief Adviser of the Bangladesh Government Professor Muhammad Yunus thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the telephonic call.
Muhammad Yunus is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, banker, economist, politician, and civil society leader who has been serving as the Chief Adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh since 8 August 2024.
