PM Modi to launch 5G services on 1st October

On October 1, 2022, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will introduce the eagerly anticipated 5G services, according to an official announcement made on Friday.

The statement states that over the course of the following two years, 5G will gradually reach the entire country after being introduced by the prime minister in selected cities.

By 2035, it is anticipated that India will achieve a cumulative economic effect of USD 450 billion.

The fifth generation, or 5G, is anticipated to unleash new economic prospects and societal advantages, acting as a transformational force for Indian society and being capable of supporting ultra-high-speed internet services.

“Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will launch 5G services in India on October 1, 2022 and also inaugurate the 6th Edition of India Mobile Congress 2022 to be held from October 1-4, 2022, at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi,” the release added.

In this context, it is important to note that 5G delivers speeds that are many times faster than those of 4G, supports lag-free communication, and can allow billions of linked devices to share data in real-time.

In addition to enabling ultra-low latency connections that allow full-length, high-quality videos and movies to be downloaded to a mobile device in a matter of seconds (even in congested areas), 5G can also enable solutions for e-health, connected cars, more immersive augmented reality and metaverse experiences, life-saving use cases, and advanced mobile cloud gaming, among others.

5G has the potential to transform Indian society by opening up new commercial opportunities and societal advantages. According to the official release, it will assist the country in overcoming conventional development obstacles, encourage startup and company innovation, and advance the “Digital India” agenda.
