Pakistan receives second batch of J-10C from China
Earlier this year, under the reign of Imran Khan, Pakistan received its first batch of the mighty J-10C from China, believed to be one of the most powerful fighter jets on the market, and rumors have suggested that the second batch or fleet of J-10Cs, including six other jets, have already been received by Pakistan.
The Pakistani Air Force refers to the Chinese-built aircraft as “Dragon from the East” and the sole purpose of this government trade was to maintain the “safety balance” claimed by the Khan government at the time of the previous fleet.
The news was confirmed by the national news channel 92 news and the Pakistan Strategic Forum also tweeted confirming that news. Although the news was not published by any government official and no ceremony was held for the arrival of the fleet, the news of the arrival of the jets has been confirmed.
This was stated by Faisal Raza, the journalist of 92 news: “The second chief of the J-10C landed at the Pakistani Air Force operational airbase, resources confirmed that the chief consists of 6 new jets that we will soon add to the operational use of the Pakistani Air Force, the J- 10C is the latest multi-roll, single-engine, 4.5-generation delta wing fighter jet with multi-display and radar options that can be proven highly beneficial to Pak Air Force operations. J-10C is powered by P-8, P-10, P-12 and P-15 missiles”.
This news comes just days after an image of Pakistan’s Chinese-sourced J-10C fighter jets, painted in a pattern reminiscent of the camouflage / painted pattern of French-made Mirage V jets, went viral on social media. Meanwhile, there have been reports that Sudan was considering the J-10C aircraft from China, suggesting it could become the aircraft’s second-largest international customer after Pakistan.
The previous hunting batch was officially introduced in a ceremony at the PAF Minhas Kamra base in Punjab. This lot consisted of the six-jet J-10C lot with serial numbers 22-101 to 22-106. Pakistani former Prime Minister Imran Khan attended the ceremony. During the event, Khan said;
“It’s a great addition to our immune system. On behalf of our country, I am grateful to China for delivering these jets in a record time of eight months”.
J-10C is of great importance in the Pakistani defensive system and the previous edition was enormously celebrated, and rightfully so for having such good capabilities. The J-10C is actually a NATO designated fighter jet which they often refer to as the “Firebird”.
Pakistan receives second batch of J-10C from China
The J-10 is a light single-engine multirole fighter capable of operating in all weather conditions. It was designed to conduct air-to-air combat and strike missions for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. The J-10C entered service in 2018 and has been regarded as one of the most powerful single-engine fighter aircraft ever since. Compared to other jets, the J-10 has been developed more extensively, with China already having more than 200 aircraft in service and Pakistan starting to install its first unit.
