India: Public questions Delhi Station’s splurging approach
New Delhi railway station is being re-developed by the Indian railway ministry. While sharing the images to show the status of the development of the project, the ministry talked about the proposed design. The tweet received mixed reviews from the fans.
Some fans applauded the impeccable design & infrastructure of the Delhi railways, others bombarded the authorities with heavy criticism. The tweet, however, received exceptional response within few hours.
People showed agitation about the ministry simply splurging rather than focusing on real issues such as accidents & train delays. They also pointed out that the proposed development infrastructure is made of glass which is not going to work in India because of the scorching heat.
Another fan showed displeasure saying that such a gigantic project is firstly going to take immense land & time and is probably going to complete in 2050.
Some fans criticized the ministry of railways on focusing on big cities only in terms of infrastructure rather than going for small villages & rural areas.
The proposed design has two dome-like structures & there is a heavy use of glass in the design. The flyovers are also included in the masterplan for the travelers to get in & out of the city & out of the city.
The criticism was also partially directed towards the difficulty in implementing the gigantic proposed plan.
