The disaster management official in Afghanistan has reported that “The flash floods in central Afghanistan have killed around more than 20 people”. As heavy rain has destroyed thousands of homes and has posed unprecedented challenges to the agriculture as well.
Afghanistan has suffered calamities from natural disasters including earthquake and drought. More than 1000 people have lost their lives.
The Taliban government who took over Afghanistan last year has been continuously struggling to cope with natural disasters and is looking forward for humanitarian assistance from IOs.
Global humanitarian agencies have provided assistance to Afghanistan but they have demanded to have more access as well as funding to assist thousands of people who are facing humanitarian challenges.
