At least three suspects were killed in a shootout with Karachi police in Orangi Town on Thursday.
According to police, a police officer was also injured during the shootout by the accused’s firing.
Meanwhile, in two separate encounters, Karachi police arrested three more suspects, including a member of the notorious Lyari gang.
Naveed Nur and Munir Hussain, two of the suspects, were apprehended in the jurisdiction of Taimuria police station.
After an exchange of fire with police, both were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in critical condition. The police recovered weapons as well as a stolen motorcycle from their possession.
The other suspect, Imran Ali alias Maya, a notorious Lyari gang dacoit and extortionist, was apprehended during an encounter with police near Bakra Piri, Lyari.
After a shootout with police, he was taken to Civil Hospital in critical condition. His accomplices, on the other hand, were able to flee under the cover of darkness.
