The Parliament will hold a joint session at 4 p.m. on Thursday (today) to consider important bills.
The Election Act 2017 (Amendment) Bill will be presented in the joint session of Parliament, according to the agenda.
The bill was passed by both the National Assembly and the Senate, but instead of signing it, President Arif Alvi vetoed it.
The bill’s approval will be sought from the Parliament’s joint session.
In addition, a bill to amend the National Accountability Bureau Ordinance 1999 will be introduced in the joint session of Parliament.
It should be noted that the National Assembly and Senate approved the NAB Amendment Bill, but the president rejected it as well.
The bill to establish the National Information Technology Board will be introduced in the Parliament’s joint session.
The meeting will also include the presentation of the Pakistan University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies Bill 2022.
The Protection of Parents Bill will also be presented for approval in the Parliament’s joint session.
The National Assembly passed the Protection of Parents Bill, but the Senate did not approve it within 90 days.
A motion to discuss the country’s economic situation will also be introduced in the joint session of Parliament.
