On Wednesday morning, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) first Hajj flight PK-743 departed from Jinnah International Karachi Airport for Madinah, carrying 291 pilgrims.
All facilities were made available to pilgrims on the orders of Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
The Hajj operation was personally overseen by PIA CEO Amir Hayat.
A special team has been assigned to assist the pilgrims at the airport.
Pilgrims have been served by PIA from five major cities: Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Quetta.
Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor Tuesday said that the government was taking all possible steps to make hassle-free smooth hajj 2022 this year and the government of Pakistan with the coordination of Saudi Ministry of Hajj has arranged cheap-rate accommodation close to Haram in Makkah.
He stated that the Pakistan government has announced an Rs150,000 subsidy for Pakistan pilgrims participating in the annual Hajj pilgrimage this year under the government scheme.
